Mary Lou Salley passed in to eternal life on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Hemet, CA. Mary Lou was born on August 21, 1927 in Lowell, Arkansas. She is survived by her spouse of 66 years, retired Air Force Pilot Paul D Salley, by her sister (Helen Jane), her three children (Richard, Linda, and Evelyn), eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family. Mary Lou was a dedicated mother and grandmother as well as a military wife for 27 years before Paul retired in 1969. She went back to school after Paul retired to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She graduated from San Jacinto Valley College in 1978 and enjoyed working in the ICU at Hemet Valley Hospital and for a local Home Care Service before she retired from nursing. Paul and Mary Lou traveled around the world both for the USAF and for leisure, with many memorable vacations including two trips to Israel in the 1990s. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hemet and even served as a volunteer church librarian for many years. A service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, February 7th at McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet (www.mcwanefamily.com).
